Never. Ever: Try to repair a Windows 7 installation via BootCamp. It freaks out Mac OS.
You can imagine, i did it, because native booting into BootCamp was broken after some Vmware Fusion Betas (prior 3.0).
Windows 7 is unable to boot after repair, and mac os booting is DEAD SLOW. It’s taking minutes to bring up the login, then locks up for another few minutes. Check console if you are affected:
There was something broken with EFI or Boot RAM. Took me a while to fix, although it’s pretty easy: reset SMC and PRAM
These reset stuff has fixed nealy every low level problem that I had in the last few years. Yet it’s strange.
What do we learn? Keep Windows where it belongs: In the virtual machine. (where no harm can be made)
